About the property

After six years of construction, we were able to finish three cozy holiday apartments in the spring of 2023 – ideal for everyone who wants to spend their vacation in relaxed tranquility between Mediterranean greenery and the turquoise blue Adriatic, and at the same time get to know the land and its people. The only “allowed” alarm clock here greets the new day with sunlight and birdsong ;-)

The guest house is located next to our private house. We really love living here and honestly, we don't want to live anywhere else. In this sense, we would be very happy if you visit us and keep coming back. So please feel a little bit “at home”...

  • Breakfast basket will be brought to your apartment. Milk, bread, butter, homemade jam, salami, cheese, and eggs from our hens are included.

SHOPPING

Only a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive away, you will find a large supermarket. The green and fish market in the center of Lovran is about a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive away. If desired, we can introduce you to nearby farmers and fishermen who sell honey, cheese, wine, lavender, olive oil, and fresh fish. Additionally, our garden with seasonal vegetables is available to you directly at the guest house, and you can pick your breakfast egg right from the chicken coop (while supplies last).

Swimming Fun

The beach is located in the center of Ika, just 500 meters from the guest villa (about 10 minutes on foot). On hot days, it is best to reach our hilltop residence by car, motorbike, or e-bike. Other beautiful pebbly beaches are located in Medveja, Mošćenička Draga, and Brseč, about 15-30 minutes by car. There are also good bus connections (bus schedule available).

Hiking

Numerous hiking trails start very close to the GÄSTEVILLA RIVIERA BLUE. Some of them lead to the northern towns of Opatija and Volosko or to Lovran and Medveja in the south. In the past, locals would walk these paths from their farms to the market in the city. You will pass beautiful old terraced gardens, cherry trees, and laurel groves. We will gladly provide you with directions. Mountain climbers will find happiness in the 1,396-meter-high Učka mountain.

Sightseeing Nearby

Just a stone's throw away, you will find the small fishing village of Ičići with many small beaches, the medieval town center of Lovran, and also along the 10 km long seaside promenade, the city of Opatija, the former Austro-Hungarian seaside resort "Abbazia" with its early 20th-century hotels, villas, and parks. The northern end is the picturesque harbor town of Volosko. The mountain villages of Mošćenice, Brseč, Veprinac, and Plomin are also very close.

Excursions to Istria and the Islands

1 to 3 hours away in Istria, you can visit the port cities of Pula (Amphitheater), Poreč (UNESCO World Heritage), Rovinj, Pazin, Buzet, Labin, and Motovun, the towns of Hum (the smallest town in the world), Roč, and the artistic village of Grožnjan. The Istrian Brijuni Islands and the Kvarner Islands Cres, Krk, and Lošinj are also beautiful nearby destinations.

Pure Nature

To the north of the Kvarner and Istria regions, the idyllic Učka Nature Park stretches over an area of 160 km². The pebbly beaches of Medveja, Mošćenička Draga, and Brseč touch the crystal-clear Adriatic, and on the archaic island of Cres, rare Griffon vultures nest. Near the fishing village of Ika, you can observe swirling whirlpools, and underwater, the Kvarner Bay is a world of its own.

If you now feel like booking a specific excursion, you can book it directly with us at the holiday apartment (licensed tour guide and captain). We also offer boat excursions with the historic wooden ship Tornado Blue.
